Hi! Welcome to our website, the home of Hoppers the kuparkuke, and dozens more characters. We're Chelsey and James, a couple living and working together in the United Kingdom. We love making art, creating characters, and, most importantly, telling stories! We're passionate about using technology to share our stories in the best way possible, and our website – though still a work in progress – is a labour of our love for all the characters you'll meet here.

Chelsey (creator, designer, illustrator)
Having discovered Microsoft Paint at a young age, Chelsey was creating her own cartoon characters since way back in the early 2000s. It wasn't until 2011, however, that she created Hoppers. He started life as an in-universe video game character enjoyed by Chelsey's previous set of characters – but the kuparkuke quickly grew on her, and ended up stealing the spotlight for himself! Today, Hoppers heads up a series comprising nearly a hundred other characters, dozens of alien worlds, and great storytelling potential. She created all but a small handful of our characters, and continues to take the lead on creating new ones.
The tools of Chelsey's trade are varied, but her favourite is PaintTool SAI. She draws every single day, and is experienced in a number of disciplines including animation, comics, graphics, and pixel art, however her main passion is for character design. She's usually available for commissions, and works part-time as a freelance illustrator.
If she ever isn't busy drawing, Chelsey enjoys computer games, mostly of the online variety… but, even then, she's always got PaintTool SAI open in the background, available for flicking back to and making refinements!
James (co-creator, writer, developer)
We became a team when I joined the franchise in 2016. Initially, writing stories about Chelsey's characters and helping her to create new ones was my little way of getting her attention. It worked, because years later we're living in the same house, still working on those same characters together. I'm a full-time web developer who works remotely from home. At the end of the working day, I switch to a different set of tabs and suddenly I'm in a different kind of work mode. I love web design and interactive experiences, and spend much more time tinkering with our own website than you'd ever think possible.
In terms of what I do for the series, I'm its writer and its developer. I come up with the finer details of the plots, and pen every one of our stories. I love writing dialogue. I've even created a few of the characters, but I don't touch their designs – I'm the one who suggested Anaesthesia look like the Honey Monster, after all, so Chelsey's clearly better at that sort of thing than I am.
When I'm not knuckling down and working hard (which is more often than I care to admit), I enjoy coding and playing computer games. I suck at online games, so for me it's single-player, story-driven games all the way.
